This was a quick, and cute stand alone read with interesting (if not particularly complex) characters. I enjoyed watching these two unconventional people navigate their feelings for one another, first as friends, and then as more. I always enjoy a good friends to lovers type of story and that is just what we got here. Although I will say that I was not surprised at the revelation at the end - and honestly I couldn't understand how it had taken Priscilla so long to come to the same conclusion. All of the signs were there throughout her life. 

One of the characters that easily stole the show was Priscilla's parrot Koffi. You were pretty much guaranteed a laugh whenever he was involved.

Overall, I would recommend this novel to those who enjoy sweet romances with unconventional characters. I would read more from this author.
