Review: Forbidden Surrender by Priscilla West

From Goodreads.com: “What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

The minute I saw Vincent Sorenson, I knew he was trouble. Billionaire. Bad boy. And dangerously sexy. He was everything I craved, and nothing I needed.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t just avoid him. The higher ups at my company decided they needed his business, and I was on the team to bring him in. Vincent Sorenson didn’t seem as interested in business as he was in me, but I knew that was a door better left unopened. If I got involved with him, it would only unearth the pain I spent years trying to bury.

I thought I had it under control, but I seriously underestimated Vincent’s seductive charm and silver-tongue. I would soon find out how delicious it would feel to let myself fall into this forbidden surrender.

WARNING: This book is recommended for MATURE AUDIENCES (18+) ONLY due to explicit sexual content.

My Rating: 3 stars out of 5

My BIGGEST complaint with this series is that I don't really consider them to be a series at all. To begin with, they aren't that long  (this one was only 9 chapters), then there is the fact that each book is a continuation of that last one (literally picking up right where the previous one left off), and for $2.99 a book, I feel that they should be longer and end on some sort of cliff-hanger.

That being said, I did enjoy the first novel. It was actually really refreshing to go into a story knowing it was considered erotica, and actually having the two main characters (who did seem to have some smoking hot chemistry) build up to the sex and not just jump right in. The majority of this book was them "dating", and getting to know one another before anything actually happened.

Forbidden Surrender was also a fast read (I was able to finish it in a couple of hours), and with the author's writing style, it didn't have that rushed feeling that some other novels have. I am looking forward to finishing this series.

DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. This has not affected my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.
